Research in this field is directed towards developing biomaterials for applications in dentistry and orthopaedics as well as polymer and polymer composite scaffolds for tissue engineering based on combination of synthetic and function specific chemically modified biopolymers with hydroxyapatite nanosized fillers and nanostructured fibers of controlled cross-section. Important part of our research involves investigating interactions between syntetic and natural biomaterials and tissue cells as well as organic plaque.
